How Long Does It Take To Backup An Ipad
- #i
Seems like it takes FOREVER to back up my iPad when I sync mine. I mean forever: similar 45 min. And I have a beggarly 16GB, of which about 2GB is free. Is information technology my reckoner? Or is this normal?
Too, is there a way to tell iTunes Not to back up my iPad when it syncs? I mean, it seems like backing upwards is something I might need to practise only one time every iii times I sync.

I have a 16gb and it is one-half empty and a total sync, including fill-in is maybe 5 minutes... maybe. Of course sync time varies depending on how much stuff I accept added through iTunes or on the iPad itself.

depend on how much music, videso and Apps you take loaded.

Great tip, thanks. The iPod Touch used to have the same problem with very tiresome backups. Merely after an upgrade (I don't recollect if it was a firmware upgrade for the iPod or an upgrade of iTunes) the trouble was over. My 16 GB iPod Touch is filled much more my sixteen GB iPad, but the iPod backup takes perhaps 5% of the time it takes for the iPad. Hopefully Apple will solve this soon.

64gb 3g + wifi with 12 movies, 1500 songs, 300 epub books, lots of apps and dorsum-up and synch accept less than five minutes. First-time iPad synch takes much longer merely subsequent synch takes about the aforementioned amount of time (that is, of form, unless I've fabricated a lot of content changes.)

I just did the 3.two.1 upgrade.
The required backup took over xxx HOURS (!) but the update went smoothly.
My iPad is a 64 gByte Wifi model with around 12 gBytes free. The PC used with iTunes is an older dual-core Pentium with iv gBytes RAM and effectually 175 gBytes gratuitous disc space on the system/iTunes bulldoze.
The backup operation is completely unacceptable and I hope Apple tree can come up with a fix. I could copy the entire contents of a one.5TB bulldoze via USB in a few hours, and so 52 gBytes should be less than an hour even allowing for information compression.

The backup performance is completely unacceptable and I promise Apple tree tin can come up upwardly with a fix.
Well... if I (and manifestly several others) can do a full sync - including backup - in just a few minutes and yours takes thirty hours, and considering nosotros are running (for all intents and purposes) identical iPads, then the problem sounds like it might perchance exist something on your end and may non be something Apple tree tin can fix.
I'm just sayin'...

I know you mean well and I am not a moderator (and I don't play i on Television), only maybe you should read the posting guidelines:
"eight. Promoting other iPad related forums or blogs in your posts, signatures, or in whatsoever way on the forum is not permitted. Doing so will result in a banning."

Well, kind of like the WiFi event, not everyone is experiencing the problem. Even with that event, at domicile it was a huge trouble but at a contempo hotel stay wirelessly tethered to my telephone it's never a problem.
There'due south a LOT of complaining on the Apple tech forum about fill-in performance, and so it's apparently not just me. There's a lot of suggestions, but a lot of replies proverb that the suggestions don't assist.
Bummer!
