HOW TO Apply YOUR PS3 CONTROLLER ON PJ64 (OR Any OTHER EMULATOR)

If your like me, you never used your PC as a game console until you establish out nearly Emulators. If thats true and then you probably haven't bought a decent game pad yet, well fret not considering if you have a PS3 Controller yous likewise tin accept a nice swell game pad to play your N64 Games on xD. Maybe some of you already know how to utilize a game pad on your emulator; thats all and good only using a ps3 controller is slightly dissimilar than whatever others so READ ON.

1. Getting Prepare
First you need to brand sure yous take a PS3 controller. I'm not certain information technology will piece of work with the Dual Shock 3 because I don't have i so no guarantees. You will also need a USB cable that will fit into the PS3 and your comp. I'm pretty sure your PS3 came with a cable like that =)

2. Download

Download this file here http://dl.qj.internet/SIXAXIS-commuter-for-PC-Tools-and-Utilities-PlayStation-three/pg/12/fid/11679/catid/518
Unpack it and put it some were you tin can find it.

3. Setting Upwardly
And so you got everything you demand, all you lot demand now is to claw it upward. Plug in your USB cablevision to your computer and so plug information technology into the PS3. The lights should start blinking. Side by side run the program you downloaded ONCE. Adjacent open your control panel click on Printers and Other Hardware then click on Game Controllers. Select the logical controller (PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller) and so click on Properties. Click on the Examination Tab and well do similar the tab says and test it out. Printing all the buttons and motion the joysticks effectually to make sure everything is working correctly. IF nothing happens when your pressing buttons, printing the PS button ONCE and that should practise it.

4. Configuration
Next you volition try it out on your emulator. Y'all should use N-Rage'southward or Jabo'southward DirectInput as your controller plugin (they come with PJ64 i call up) or any other plugin that allows Game Pads.

N-Rages Plugin: Open up your Project64 and get to Options > Configure Controller Plugin. Click on the Devices Tab and on the Device Driblet-Down box select PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller. then map the buttons to your liking. Salve profiles then yous can have diffrent layouts for diffrent games.
Jabo's Plugin: Open up your Project64 and go to Options > Configure Controller Plugin. Click on the drop downward box and select your controller (PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller) and and then all you need to do is map your buttons! Click on the the little box corresponding to N64 button and map it to a logical button on your PS3 controller. Hitting OK and your done!

5. Conclusion
I made this for PJ64 but I'chiliad pretty certain you tin can use your command on any other emulator equally long as information technology has a plugin that allows external game pads. Take Fun!

Yous say to run the prgram only Once (very important step due to capitals?) withal i accept been playing with a PS3 controller for a while at present and what i detect about effective is to click the Dos prgram every bit many times every bit possibul earlier it loads (this wil make information technology load several but they all go away quickly) and i also find it works best if yous printing the Middle ps logo button while doing this.

P.S.: I am being very serious, i had prioblems before with my contoller and i have found this the best way to keep it consistent

Actually? I never really encountered any problem. I commonly plug it in, run the program, and printing the PS push and that does it for me. Well if it works for you and then keep doing that!

Why would you use a PS3 controller for blast?
why not? It's a skillful alternative IF you don't accept another game pad or adapter. It beats the keyboard (debatable) thats for certain >_>.

PS3 controllers cost more then adapters anyways. And so instead of buying a ps3 controller, just fork out 10-20 bucks for an adapter.

If its because you have a PS3 already then y'all probably take enough money for a 20 dollar adapter anyways. Adapter >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS3 controller.

What if you don't take a N64 controller? Then you lot would spend more coin to buy one. And WHY would you buy the adapter if yous can use your PS3 controller with my guide? 8)

Well guessing you already have a PS3, so you should accept plenty of money anyways.

And you would buy an adapter + N64 controller instead of using a ps3 controller because its a Fashion meliorate controller for nail XP

Well you see therein lies the trouble. My bro bought it with his credit bill of fare. Stupid, yeah i know.

I never actually liked the N64 controller anyway then I estimate its good for me =P. Its pretty much the aforementioned anyhow. The stick is more responsive and its less awkward to hold. The C-Buttons are mapped to my Right Analog stick so there's no conflict there. Its also easier to taunt, which is very important! xD

It would exist really impressive if you got the SixAxis features to work with Boom. Hah.
Non yet my friend. Not Notwithstanding .
